The Louisiana Classified is a public service operated by
ICorp in New Orleans, LA. We invite
you to participate and help us build a useful database of ads relating to
Louisiana information, products and services.
I posted an ad and now it's not there. What happened?
Usually, ads are automatically deleted every 30-60 days unless you have
a special arrangement with us to keep the ad up longer.
If you posted an ad in violation of our Terms of Service,
it will be immediately deleted and we will use the content of the ad to update
our filter to keep subsequent posts of that nature, from that host,
system or network, advertising that e-mail and/or web site from ever
appearing on any of our systems. So please respect the rules of the site so
that we can offer the highest-quality content.
You'd be surprised how many people attempt to post unethical ads - it's
unfortunate they ignore our simple rules, so the blacklist function has
become a necessity in order to keep us from constantly having to check
the database.
Can I advertise a business venture or service?
Yes you can, but in most cases such an ad will fall into the category
of commercial advertising and we charge a very reasonable fee to post your ad.
Considering we are very selective about the content, our commercial advertisers
are in excellent company online - with little or no "noise" advertisements to

How does this work?
The LA Classifieds used a proprietary software engine developed by ICorp, which is
capable of handling huge amounts of data in a virtually unlimited array of categories
and nested sub-categories. What you're seeing here is one of the first prototypes of
our system. The engine is fully-customizable and can handle a wide variety of data
formats including embedded images, user-definable output formats, tables, frames,
advanced searching, SQL, and a lot more. This engine can also be used for web-based
messageboards and other applications - stay tuned for exciting developments as the
software continues to be enhanced.
Why run Louisiana Classifieds?
Basically, this is another aspect of the Louisiana Home Page, and to be honest, we get a lot
of inquiries from different people requesting information, wanting to know about certain
things and looking for LA products - more than we can sometimes handle.
This system should make it a lot easier for people
to find what they're looking for (bypassing us as middlemen);
it also adds more interactivity to the LA Home Page. And of course, we want to show-off
our latest client/server project. We don't anticipate charging users for access to this
site, but like everyone else - we have bills to pay - if we can subsidize our
efforts through advertisement, licensing the system to
others, or developing commercial sites, then our efforts will more than pay off. Aside from
this, the most rewarding aspect of all is knowing that our work is appreciated by others.
